Hitesh Thakrar
Hitesh is an Executive Partner of Syncona Investment Management Ltd.
He has over 30 years' experience in global public equities and early-stage venture investing. He managed Innovation funds for several asset management companies including Aviva and ADIA, where he was a top-rated portfolio manager. He has a particular interest in the convergence of life science with other innovation-led sectors such as data sciences and the application of industrial technology in medical diagnostics.
He currently serves as Trustee at Cancer Research UK and on the Board of CRH plc. He is Chair of the Health Innovation Network (NHS South London AHSN) and a Trustee of the Alan Turing Institute, the UK's national institute for AI and data science. He is a Council member of STFC UKRI, chairing the Business and Innovation Committee.
He holds a degree in Chemistry from King's College London, is a CFA Charterholder, has an MBA from Cranfield University, and was a Cambridge University Innovation Fellow.
